Pediatric Intensivist needed to serve as the ECMO/Cardiac Critical Care Director
Ohio based Akron Children’s Hospital seeks a Pediatric Intensivist to serve as the Program Director for ECMO and the Director of the subsection of Cardiac Critical Care. Akron Children’s Hospital is the largest pediatric healthcare system in Northeast Ohio and was recently named by Modern Healthcare as the fastest growing children’s hospital in the nation!

The successful candidate will join a well-established team of 11 pediatric intensivists who provide services in the Hospital’s, 27 bed, multidisciplinary, PICU. The unit has more than 1500 annual admissions, providing care for all medical, cardiothoracic surgery, and other surgical subspecialty patients. The intensivists also serve as the medical control physician for a large regional transport service.

Requirements include MD or DO degree, board certification in Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and the ability to obtain an active medical license in the state of Ohio. The director must have five years of demonstrated leadership experience, and a strong interest in teaching, performance improvement and clinical research.
